Neuse River Community Development Corporation, Inc. (NRCDC) is a licensed 501(c)3 tax exempt Community Development Corporation that was formed in 1996 to address housing and community development needs in the local wealth neighborhoods of New Bern and Craven County.

OBJECTIVES
- Increase affordable housing, i.e., homeownership and affordable rental within the moderate/low wealth communities
- Be the premier financial literacy educator for youth and adults in the region
- Design, implement and maintain an emergency repair program
- Advocate for the voiceless in the community

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
NRCDC has addressed the limited supply of quality affordable housing by partnering with Weyerhaeuser and other organizations to rehabilitate donated houses providing homes for low and moderate income families in the Greater Duffyfield Community.
In Addition, NRCDC has partnered with Habitat for Humanity by providing land to build Habitat homes. NRCDC’s history also includes partnering with the US Census Bureau, sponsoring Duffest for over ten years, and sponsoring the African American Oral History Project.
